VA Palo Alto Health Care System
National Salute to Veteran Patients Week
Every year, the Department of Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service coordinates the VA National Salute to Veteran Patients. This event is always celebrated the week of Valentine’s Day in a variety of ways across the United States. It is a time to:
- Show appreciation to America’s Veterans;
- Increase the awareness of our health care system in the community;
- Encourage visits to hospitalized Veterans during National Salute week and consider becoming a VA volunteer.
As Americans, it is a time to simply say “thank you” for our Veterans’ commitment to serve our country.
Everyone has the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of Veterans.
At VAPAHCS, we will be celebrating all week around the health care system and will have a special visit from Jessa Carmack, Miss California 2016. She will be visiting various units around the Palo Alto Division on Wednesday, February 15.
More than 98,000 Veterans of the U.S. armed services are cared for every day in VA medical facilities, outpatient clinics, domiciliary sites, and community living centers. You can make a difference in their lives with a visit or by volunteering. Find out how you can volunteer at VAPAHCS!
