On Monday, July 7, 2014, Congresswomen Anna Eshoo and Jackie Speier hosted a town hall meeting at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). During the town hall, many Veterans shared their positive experiences with VAPAHCS:

  • VAPAHCS is a shining example. I have been very fortunate. My wife is a 90 year-old, World War II Veteran. She is alive today because of the care she received.
  • I have been a patient since 2004, with three hip replacements. I have received excellent and timely care, especially at the Women’s center.
  • I would like it to be known that my husband, a World War II Veteran gets excellent care at this medical center. His primary care doctor is outstanding. We have used the ER, hospital and several clinics all with excellent results. We have not had to wait for appointments.

We are thankful to hear how VAPAHCS has met the needs and expectations of many of our Veterans and their family members; however, we recognize and acknowledge that we have many opportunities for improvement. We truly value the feedback from our Veterans so we can continuously improve our processes to better meet your needs. Comments and questions raised during the town hall meeting included topics such as health care, homelessness, customer service, communication, and staffing. Those who came forward with individual concerns versus system issues were also addressed one-on-one with the Veteran.
