Federal Employment Forms

Generally, the forms an applicant needs for a federal job application are:

  • Declaration for Federal Employment (OF 306)
  • DD214
  • Selective Service Verification
    If a male Veteran was not registered with the selective service, then he needs to complete a waiver stating that he did not do so intentionally. Women are exempt. Men born before 1960 are exempt.
  • For a “Status” position, a Veteran must be either a current employee of the VA, or someone with a service-connected disability of 30% or higher.
    If you have a service-connected disability of 30% or more, call the Oakland Regional Office at 1-800-827-1000, and ask for a “letter of preference.”
