Neurology

Neurology is the branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the nervous system – the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles.

The Neurology Service at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System provides comprehensive outpatient evaluation and treatment on different neurological conditions including subspecialization in neuromuscular disorders, stroke, and movement disorders. We also offer a consultative service to patients admitted into the hospital needing neurological evaluation. We have a staff of nine physicians (seven full-time and two part-time) and one full-time nurse practitioner.

Our clinics are located at the Palo Alto and Livermore Divisions, as well as the San Jose clinic.

We also offer Telehealth services at the Monterey and Stockton clinics.

Appointments are scheduled via electronic consultation requested through the patient's primary care provider.

The administrative office of the Neurology Service is located at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto Division, 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Phone: (650) 858-3976.
